Those of who frequent our facebook page and website may have read many months ago about USA Baseball's significant change to bat regulations starting in 2018.  Youth leagues in national organizations like Little League & Cal Ripken must be in compliance with these new bat standards starting with their Spring 2018 seasons. Overall, this is a welcomed change by FYBO as it will usher back in a focus on hitting and fielding fundamentals and increase safety especially in our 7-12 age groups who play on smaller diamonds. It does however mean most of the bats owned privately by our players and by FYBO are no longer viable for game play.

If you do not privately own a bat and are not planning on buying one, you're all set.  We have already begun buying new compliant bats for the 2018 season for all age groups and teams and your child can use one of the team bats along with the other gear the program provides to each team (helmets, catchers gear etc).  If your child is used to having their own bat however and/or you are planning on buying a new one for them, you'll need to make sure the bat is compliant with these new regulations.  We have partnered with our equipment supplier Grogan/Marciano Sporting Goods to make this VERY easy for you.

Attached is a flyer that has 17 bats of varying sizes/prices but that all follow the new 2018 regulations.  Further than this, they are all being offered to FYBO players at a LARGE discount via an online store Grogan/Marciano has setup for FYBO specifically at

Please note, you must order by 12/13 to take advantage of the online ordering and discount prices.  If you have any questions on the bats or buying process, you should contact Mike Bruno at Grogan/Marciano at 508-339-2945.
